“Niagara’s Best” Showcase – Niagara Music Awards Winners Showcase

Sukkapunch, Oliver Black, Oracle, Soren Carter, The Broken Lyre and The Street Pharmacy, just to name a few…

The winners of the Niagara Music Awardshave taken home their trophies. But after such an overwhelmingly positive response following the NMAs, its time for everyone to hear them… together. Capital M Entertainment presents the “Niagara’s Best” Showcase where 12 NMA winners will come together for a full day of unbelievable entertainment. The event will be held at Club Richelieu in Welland.

Big Starz Karaoke will launch the showcase with a singing competition, providing exposure to our “future nominees”. Registration for the contest will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. for children aged 10 and under. One winner will get the opportunity to perform at the 2009 Niagara Music Awards!

From 4:00 p.m. on will be performances from an unbeatable line-up of worthy Niagara Entertainment. Throughout the day there will be raffles, prizes and food served by the Port Colborne Folk Arts Council.

Come out and support the Niagara music scene and all the talent it has to offer!

I just finished watching an AMAZING special on Jimi Hendrix. It was aired on vH1 Classic. It talked a lot about the influence Bob Dyaln had on Jimi’s interest in music.

You know when you hear something and you just can’t get over how good it sounds? And you try to make everyone listen to it, and then you get frustrated because it doesn’t have as strong of an effect on them. Thats how Jimi felt about Dylan.

Bob Dylan, if you ever happen to see this (who knows, maybe Dylan’s a blogger!) thank you. Not only for your immense contribution to classic rock, but for your heavy influence on people like Jimi who never felt more inspired than they did listening to your music.

No disrespect to the OC…

Whats up with the OC marathons on Much Music? Perhaps my opinion is slightly bias because I don’t watch The OC. However, I just don’t see the connection between a music television network and a show like The OC.

That’s really all I have to say about that.

My Favourite You Tube Videos

I have a tendency of becoming obsessed with things, especially things that I find interesting. The following videos are those that I find interesting. They are also those that I have seen 8 million times each and those that I force people to watch every chance I get.

Here is the link for the first one. The video that comes up should be called Battle at Kreuger. Our planet, with all its amazing creatures and landscapes, is something that I find extremely interesting. If anyone has a chance to watch Planet Earth the DVD series, you MUST watch it. It will blow you away. This video will also blow you away.

Let me set the scene. I am guessing that this video was filmed by tourists on a tour of an African savanna. What they saw not only astonished the tourists, but the tour guides as well. As you watch this video, please keep in mind the food chain and the reality that lions need to eat too.

My second video has a completely different vibe. This may sound cruel, but I am extremely amused by people falling. Not oh-my-God-that-hurt falling, but funny falling. I don’t know why, but when someone falls I usually laugh so hard that my stomach hurts as well as my face. (As long as they are not seriously injured.)

So, the following video cracks me up. My favourite fall is definately the second one. After you watch it, watch the second one again, but this time notice the brat that pushes the lady down the slide. It makes it even funnier. The video is called Funny Women Falling.
